These days we don't talk about that guy. They killed a guy, then teamed up to kill that same guy again but got killed by him, then killed each other. It was aggressively fucked up and their relationship in Exsilium continued to be aggressively fucked up, a surrogacy for the moirails and kismeses both of them acutely lacked. Without him she's thirsty and alone.

Alpha Rose is Alpha Kanaya's girlfriend. In Exsilium, however, both girls remember their relationship as it was in act 5: Adversarial, this time in terms of the appropriate response to the hegemony of their current universe. Fortunately or not, neither is terribly interested in their canonical fate. Though a moth is always drawn to a flame, that requires something to be on fire. In other words, Kanaya still admires Rose's skill with barbs both verbal and metal, but has given up on getting closer to her. To this day the first name she attaches to "Lalonde" is "Roxy" anyway.
John has never been the human Kanaya knew best. In Exsilium he's demonstrated promising goodwill and intelligence. Kanaya is open to working with him should the opportunity present itself before he's gone.
Jake has been in Exsilium for quite a while, since 3312, and Kanaya's interactions withh im have been sporadic. She has a muted but enduring affinity with him dating back to when Roxy was their mutual friend. Parties are what most often bring them together, as Kanaya provides Jake with material aid; he repays only in amicability.
Dirk is a spectre in Exsilium. His strong affiliation with Roxy lets him continue to haunt Kanaya. She's a stranger to him in this iteration, although her curiosity about his strategic strength increases by the day.
Feferi was Kanaya's friend since before they played the game a sweep ago. She stayed on the meteor long enough to get shot, however, and has shuffled through a different set of interdimensionally inflicted trauma. Though her blood was tyrian the heiress never saw Alternia through rose-colored glasses as Kanaya came to when losing her faith in humanity. Rather than reconcile their ideological differences, Kanaya has opted to let their friendship remain...

Shallow.
Eridan and Kanaya have history: She took his alternate for granted in the asylum and his loss left a huge hole in her. Unfortunately his Exsilium iteration had inflicted a more literal type of wound upon her counterpart, leaving him chainsaw-scarred around the waist and triggered by rainbow drinkers. For six months she made the most ingratiating postures of reconciliation imaginable out of guilt; what little progress they made was shattered when the truth came out about his alpha timeline crimes. In the wake of the subsequent argument and abandonment, Kanaya reflected on how poor his treatment of her had always been when considered relative to any other person's and resolved upon his return to treat him as if they were just two trolls.
Sollux and Kanaya had a close relationship long before the game, but then dimensional divergence was drastic. In the castle, Sollux steeped in the alpha timeline though technically his canon point was identical to Kanaya's. Initially Kanaya resented the unwanted reality check Sollux provided. Slowly but surely it sank in, and the Department is an avenue for their collaborative relationship to flourish. Emotionally Kanaya remains distant, fearing both his disappearance and closeness that could not become conciliatory.
Karkat was Kanaya's Knight in sour armor back in the Land of Rays and Frogs, her venerated leader -and then paradox space tore them asunder. In the asylum Karkat had a ten-minute stay Kanaya and Gamzee were both so shaken by the implications that they separately invented logical explanations for the experience to the effect that he had never really been there. Hayato Gokudera was emotional surrogate best friend to the two trolls, a constant until the very endgame. Throughout the time shenanigans, deadly teen drama, and complete bullshit that has characterized life at large ever since the trolls installed Sgrub on their husktops, Karkat has not changed, his affections never wavered: Across all timelines, he is the cantankerous caring leader their clique needs and does not deserve.
Until now. Karkat's betrayal of rebellious sentiments cuts Kanaya almost as deep as Eridan's change of collapsing and expanding aquatic bladder system. The wound stings all the more because his misgivings are entirely justified. Kanaya wants to be close to Karkat if they're in the same dimension again for a short while, but they're not on the same planet right now -- literally.
Asuka is Kanaya's best friend. Last year she was a network acquaintance who turned out to have also experienced armageddon and death. This year she is the only Transport who knows her birthday. In between the two girls have cultivated a companionship so common as to almost be boring. Kanaya's fondnes for her approaches flushed but with Asuka's likely hangups over her castmates and heteronormative self-image, a relationship would violate their unspoken Don't rock the boat policy.
Alice has been Kanaya's friend from the start, which incidentally means their separation by fate is inevitable. alice understands the many neuroses asylum alumnae inherit, being one herself. They tread lightly together, eye of the storm. In whatever way is needed they'll collaborate, including missions, defensive warfare, and most recently cohabitation in the ice.
Haruka is the only name in the list of network IDs that Kanaya wants to abbreviate. she helped her home when she first arrived in February, magnetically attracted to her monocularity and further enamored with her intelligence, and style, and flair... A number of artificial factors adding up to attraction are multiplied by the validation of her alternate timeline, her emotions' worth, her mission's importance. She was a goner as soon as Haruka called her starry glow emotes cute. However, the very traits that have so endeared her to Kanaya prevent her from ever feeling the same way. She respects death. Her fidelity to "someone" from before she came here does not waver. The Initiative cannot change that. She knows this realm's temporary and refuses to form bonds here. Horns over heels for Haruka, all Kanaya can do is admire her from a distance.
The leader of the Mekakushi Dan, Kido has been indirectly responsible for a major shift in Kanaya's thinking about the immutability of the future, not to mention her not-infrequently worn hoodie. The brigadiers share experiences in their world that Kanaya doesn't know, meaning that Kanaya still hasn't gotten as close to Kido as she might like. She may not volunteer the information to Kido that she's committed murder, but she would move a body for her.
Another member of the Mekakushi Dan, at first Kanaya primarily thought of Kano as Kido's boyfriend. Over the last year she's become attached to his public prankster persona - and still believes it's completely purehearted fun.

Roslyn Small is who Kanaya wants to be if she grows up. Maternal towards Eridan and forewarned about Alpha Kanaya's action, at first Roslyn's view of her here was skeptical. Once she discovered their discrepancies and addressed them constructively, Kanaya became grateful for her guidance. Roslyn is Kanaya's main role model and a major part of her molding into a gun-toting imprisonment-advocating soldier.
The door into the department that gradually ate Kanaya alive, or rather undead. First acquainted by Pepper Potts passing, Saul has always been surprisingly supportive of Kanaya's age and species. If Kido inspired Knaaya to be more than her canonical fate, Saul has given her the platform for living up to the ideal of that other fate being service to the Initiative. He helped her match newcomers and veterans and much more. Kanaya remains a little wary of an older human male's temper - but hey, at least he doesn't have a thing for younger girls, right? ... Right?
Not in the Notice Me sense, as a trainer. After a traumatic depowering incident, Kanaya sought her out once and for all to learn hand-to-hand. Their acquaintanceship blossomed once they both became Department members. Though interspecies differences force a degree of disconnect, maybe even distrust, they are some of the only Transports actively organizing missions.
Kanaya has regarded the Initiative as her saviors from the outset. Saul realized she would be the perfect girl for the job of assisting Vennett. She both reveres him as a member of the organization and appreciates the mentoring he's given her on temporal programming few transports understand.
Celestia is untouchable and amazing. Her skills as a cardshark hustled up the money Kanaya used to buy Christmas presents, which included royal milk tea for her. Though she doesn't expect honesty from her of all girls, they have a productive partnership indeed.
Heath first appeared on Kanaya's radar making an eloquent defense of the potential sentience of zombies, being able to speak their language, and turned out to be nonhuman himself in all the right ways: Open, empathetic, tolerant, determined. His world is an alternate Earth where "monsters", fantastical creatures of all types, and ordinary humans, or "normies" as monsters teasingly call them, live together in peace. He has a bad habit of flirting that's so pathetic as to be almost endearing, and it makes him easier to drag onto missions.
One of Kanaya's newer acquaintances, Abbey is a worldmate of Heath. With completely subtle narrative significance, he put the two girls into contact after Kanaya became curious about the sentience of yeti. The solidarity between two monstrous young ladies is a rare breed, and Kanaya eagerly anticipates spending more time with her.
How does one girl spend so long in Canada and come out completely idealistic, this isn't possible. Although she knows it's a little cruel, Kanaya keeps her distance from this girl.
