i think kaoru probably would have attempted to commiserate with her on the non-human front over the last three years! YEAH HE UNDERSTANDS... U FIGHT FOR YOUR RACE, ANNIE. he'll always feel a little indebted to her for being one of the people who switched their votes, too, even if he's too much of a loser to be able to verbalize it well.

Absooolutely. Kaoru would be one of the few people Annie would willingly talk to (without twitching to smack them). She would have a hard time getting close to people much older than her, in any case, so it's teen angst bonding time.

They can be in the same "suck at communication" boat.

good lord though AT LEAST THEY HAVE EACH OTHER... they can angst awkwardly while trying to figure out how to phrase things together.
